Under a White House projection, the U.S. economy is expected to expand by 3.1 percent this year, faster than last year's 1.7 percent. Growth would pick up to 3.4 percent in 2015, the White House said. The jobless rate, which reached a high of 10 percent in 2009, fell to a five-year low of 6.6 percent in January.
Indian Wells (United States) (AFP) - Two-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray survived the determined challenge of young Czech Jiri Vesely to reach the fourth round of the Indian Wells ATP Masters. Murray, formerly ranked world number two but currently sixth, on Monday had to rally in the second and third sets to defeat the 20-year-old, 77th-ranked Vesely 6-7 (2/7), 6-4, 6-4, and the Scot dubbed it "a frustrating match."
