Carlos Alberto starred alongside Pele, Tostao, Jairzinho and Rivelino in the Brazil team that beat Italy 4-1 in the final in Mexico and is considered as one of the greatest sides of all time. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1944, "Capita" as he is known in Brazil, also played alongside Pele at Santos from 1966 to 1974 and at the New York Cosmos from 1977 to 1980 after beginning his career with Fluminense.

The EU introduced the emergency measures to cope with the migrant influx in 2015 The EU moved Tuesday to prolong border controls in the passport-free Schengen area for three months, missing an end-of-year deadline to scrap the emergency measures adopted to cope with last year's massive migrant influx. The European Commission, the European Union executive arm, recommended continuing checks at the borders of Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and non-EU Norway for three months starting in November. The EU had said it wanted to restore full functioning with no border controls across the Schengen area -- which includes 22 EU countries as well as Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein -- by the end of the year.
