By Louis Charbonneau UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Western ambassadors on the U.N. Security Council demanded an end to what they said was Russia's false propaganda and "fantasy narrative" on the escalating crisis in Ukraine, warning that such distortions could inflame the volatile situation. "The systematic and targeted propaganda war against Ukraine and its provisional leadership, is an extremely dangerous game," Lithuania's U.N. Ambassador Raimonda Murmokaite, who requested Wednesday's special meeting, told the 15-nation council. "As we have seen time and again, including in Central African Republic, it is much too easy to release the arms-wielding genie of incitement and hate, but so much more difficult to contain it afterwards," she added. The council voted last week to send U.N. peacekeepers to the Central African Republic where the United Nations has warned that the sectarian violence could spiral into genocide.
