Indian Wells (United States) (AFP) - Kevin Anderson handed Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka his first defeat of 2014 to reach the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells ATP Masters. South Africa's Anderson beat Wawrinka 7-6 (7/1), 4-6, 6-1 to end Wawrinka's run of 13 straight match wins to open 2014, which included a title run in Chennai before his maiden Grand Slam triumph in Melbourne. "I knew it's going to happen," Wawrinka said. Two-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray of Britain was another fourth-round casualty, falling 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 to big-serving Canadian Milos Raonic.
Astronomers have spotted the largest yellow star ever observed in our galaxy and 1,300 times larger than the sun. The yellow hypergiant star HR 5171 A is also in the top-10 of the largest stars known and about one million times brighter than the sun, Olivier Chesneau, whose team made the discovery, said Wednesday. "The new observations also showed that this star has a very close binary partner, which was a real surprise," said Chesneau, of the Observatoire de la Cote d'Azur, in Nice, France.
