LONDON (AP) — Britain is bracing for clashes with right-wing extremists and possible copycat terror attacks after the slaying of a young soldier, adding some 1,200 police to potential trouble spots.

CARDIFF (Reuters) - Bank of England policymaker Paul Fisher said on Friday that he favoured small additional amounts of bond purchases over time, but not a longer-term commitment to more purchases like that of the U.S. Federal Reserve. "My view is that we should be doing a slow amount over a period of time. Twenty-five (billion pounds) over three months is a slow rate," Fisher said. "That would be what you kick off with.
