It happened without a sound, without any commotion.

On Wednesday, February 16, at approximately 11 a.m., the Amalgamated Bank at 69-73 Grand Avenue was robbed.

According to a police spokesperson, a white, male perpetrator believed to be 30 years old, standing at 6"0' and weighing 200 pounds walked into the recently opened bank branch and placed an unknown object into the back of the bank manager.

According to the spokesperson, the perpetrator then walked the manager over to one of the teller windows demanding that she instruct the teller to give him an undisclosed sum of money.

After the perp retrieved the money from the teller, he fled the premises on foot, headed north on 69th Lane. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded jacket with dark jeans and white sneakers.

The amount of money that the robber took off with couldn't be disclosed because the investigation is still ongoing.

The spokesperson noted that it is an active case being looked at by the Major Case Robbery Task Force. Video from the bank is being reviewed.

According to police, no one was injured and it was unclear how many customers were in the bank at the time.
