“I am excited for the opportunity to lead the softball program at Queens College,” said Berardi. “In my short time here with the team so far, I know we are primed and ready to return to championship level play and to compete for the ECC crown.”
The last three seasons, the Penmen earned NCAA Championship berths and claimed the Northeast-10 Championship in 2015. In her position, Berardi oversaw the pitching staff, including 2016 Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Year and CCA All-East Region honoree Sarah Lavallee.
Berardi also mentored three-time Northeast-10 Pitcher of the Year Ali Maloof.
Berardi is familiar with the East Coast Conference, as she spent four years as a starting pitcher at her alma mater of LIU Post. As a senior, she earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First Team All-Region honors.
During her career, she amassed 63 victories and posted a 1.58 earned run average along with 469 strikeouts.
She earned three All-ECC honors, as the Pioneers earned four NCAA East Regional appearances, two East Regional Championships, a pair of Division II World Series appearances and two ECC championships during her playing career.
Berardi earned her bachelor’s degree from LIU Post in psychology in 2011, and recently completed her master’s degree in sports management from Southern New Hampshire.
