Update: Police have arrested 21-year-old mother Rashida Chowdhury in connection with the infant's death. She has been charged with intentional second-degree murder and second-degree murder of a person under 11 years old.

A one-month-old infant was found dead outside a Richmond Hill apartment building Friday morning.

The grim discovery was made at 4 a.m. near a trash can in the courtyard of 85-55 115th Street. The baby was identified as Rizwan Ahmad.

A preliminary investigation showed the infant was possibly thrown or dropped out a fourth-floor window from the building. Police were questioning the boy's 21-year-old mother, Rashida Chowdhury, who was taken to Jamaica Hospital's psychiatric unit for observation.

According to published reports, the boy's father, 40-year-old Ahmad Ridwan, and two other adults and two more children were inside the apartment when the incident occurred.
