In a sport as time-honored as baseball, it’s always a treat to watch someone do something that hasn’t been done before. And for that reason, Cyclones pitcher Brandon Moore’s no-hitter against Aberdeen earned him Athlete of the Week honors. Moore, a 2008 14th round draft pick out of Indiana Weslyan, was effective and efficient in throwing the first no-no in Brooklyn history. But what’s Moore (if you’ll pardon the pun) is that Moore has been doing this all season. Moore is 6-2 with a 2.15 ERA, and he has given up more than three runs only once all season.
With performances like this, it won’t be long before we see Moore pitching in Buffalo of Flushing. Just remember while you’re cheering for him at CitiField that you saw him in Brooklyn first.
