Beauty “Yoda” Laura Wolf, aims to beautify the world, one New Yorker at a time.
With beauty trends walking hand in hand with fashion trends, we have found a ‘beauty babe’ to guide us through the ever growing haystack of product choices. It can be overwhelming choosing between shadow and polish colors, yes.

However, is it really necessary to have a separate neck moisturizer apart from your regular face moisturizer? How much is too much to spend on a bottle of shampoo? What’s the lifespan of a bottle of nail polish? You have beauty questions?

We found a beauty “Yoda.” Meet Laura Wolf, Texas transplant who relocated all the way to Brooklyn to beautify the world, one New Yorker at a time.

Laura has been a beauty consultant working for several well known brands such as Bare Escentuals in addition to some major skin care lines throughout her career. While educating herself in beauty 101 she managed to graduate from college with a degree in Public Relations. With poise and charm intact, she swiftly made the transition from Texan to Brooklynite as she accepted a job here in NYC as the manager of a luxurious, upper echelon, beauty retailer.

With her love of all products that make you pretty, we picked her brain for the latest and greatest trends in hair, make-up and skin care.

“Bright and bold lips of hot pinks, corals and bright reds are in for spring…no nude lips this season,” she stated while showing us her latest color palate.

She recommended some higher end brands that have SPF and lip conditioners which result in longer lasting color. Some of her favorite brands are Chante Caille with lipsticks starting at $36.00 and By Terry lipsticks which start at $48.00. “With a bold lip goes a softer eye. Light eyeliner, darker mascara and neutral shadows compliment a brighter lip well, which imposes a confident, sexy statement,” she said.

As we switched to discussing commonalities of eyebrow thickness, she got very serious and stated, “Untamed eyebrows in this day and age are nothing but a pure fashion violation, there’s no excuse for it. Keeping them manicured emphasizes your eye shape and color.”

“Your eyebrow shape is personal, versus universal,” she said. “It depends of your facial structure.” That was good advice that made us look in the mirror and double check our eyebrow status.

Laura’s new beauty blog www.peaceloveandmascara.wordpress.com keeps you in her beauty loop. File in and figure out what she’s using and abusing, what she’s tossing and throwing.

Here’s her top three picks for your make-up bag this season:

1. Serge Normant’s Meta Lush Volumizer: Why? This adds volume without stickiness or interference with your hair’s natural texture.
