Dear Editor:

I find it interesting that when polit-actor Fred Thompson, at the Republican Convention, said of Senator John McCain, “being a prisoner of war does not qualify one to be President” it was accepted as fact by the mesmerized conventioneers. But when earlier Democrat General Wesley Clark made the exact same statement he was admonished as if he had suggested that POWs, were in fact at an exotic health spa. Even the milquetoast Democratic Party apologized for Clark’s accurate truism.

If an accusation is verified by a concession, does that make it fact, or should the Democratic Party of wimps now apologize for Fred Thompson’s concurrence with General Wesley Clark’s statement?
