I read with interest your Article “CB5 debates Maspeth ambulance charging station (2/11/16).”
For some time now, I have noticed ambulances parked in front of the Maspeth Library on Grand Avenue. Since they are going to park there anyway, it seems to me that it is a perfect space for one of the charging stations.
It would not take up a valuable parking space, since it’s illegal to park there anyway. It is between two crosswalks for Grand avenue and would not block pedestrian passage, and it would, as the article states, cut down on pollutants.
It seems like to me to be a win-win situation. I stand behind the FDNY in their effort to save money and pollution.
