I think that due to the federal government shutdown, people realized just how big the government is.
It is involved in many aspects of our lives. The fishermen in Alaska couldn't fish because they need a permit from the federal government. The national parks and numerous other
programs that are funded by the federal government were closed.
Why can't the states fund these programs? The liberal big spenders in Congress have allowed the government to get to this point, and then they blame the conservatives who are trying to trim government spending. How long can we keep increasing the national debt?
The answer to this is to cut government spending. This may not be popular, but it is the only way to keep our country solvent. We must get back to the guidelines as written in the U.S. Constitution.
