Denise Loheac, formerly of Maspeth, NY died on August 17, 2015 at Ten Broeck Commons, Lake Katrine, NY. She was born in Paterson NJ, on May 22, 1930, the daughter of the late Christophe and Marie-Anne Duigou. She was brought to France as an infant and grew up at Pont des Lutins, Gourin, France on the family farm and country store. She attended the Convent School of Gourin and Graduated in 1947. She married her childhood sweetheart, Pierre Loheac on September 6, 1949. Denise and Pierre immigrated to New York in 1952. They lived in Manhattan for several years, then bought a house in Woodside, Queens in 1958, where they raised their family. Later they also bought a country home in Monroe, NY where they spent weekends and vacations. Denise worked for several years at the Longines Watch Factory and later she worked at the Café du Soir restaurant in Manhattan. Denise was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Pirre, her son Remi Loheac, and her daughter-in-Law Kathleen Loheac. She is survived by her sons John Loheac, Joel Loheac and his wife Denise, her granddaughter Michelle Loheac and her husband Tim Whitwood, grandsons Michael Loheac, Andrew Loheac and Great-Grandson Ted Whitwood. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Village Chapels in Middle Village, NY. (villagechapels.com). Viewing will be on Sunday, August 23rd at 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Hope in Middle Village, NY on Monday August 24th at 9:45 am. Burial will be Mount St Mary Cemetery in Flushing NY. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org or 1-800-272-3900)
