Fix the VA

Dear Editor,

I find it quite troubling what has been happening at the Veterans Administration over the years. Millions of veterans depend on the VA for their health care.

Former VA Secretary David Shulkin was fired, in my opinion, for not getting the job done. President Donald Trump has selected Admiral Ronny Jackson as new secretary, and I hope he might turn the VA into a well oiled machine that can truly help many veterans in need of better care.

I'm 69 years old and a Vietnam-era veteran of the Navy, and I feel political bureaucracy has taken precedent over the proper care of our veterans who gave their all to protect our freedom. They deserve better and should get it.

Sincerely,

Frederick R. Bedell, Jr.
