Dear Editor:

Like many patrons who favor Dunkin' Donuts as one of their culinary breakfast bailiwicks, I often enjoy a bagel or hot chocolate. I find a chocolate custard donut and a vanilla bean Coolatta a favorite treat.

However, a recent purchase at a Howard Beach location got me very annoyed.

I questioned the 50 cents extra charge for a dab of butter on a toasted muffin I ordered. The muffin was still basically dry after this invisible smear was applied.

The employee apologized, explaining that's what they charge to butter the muffin. I told her I thought it was crazy and outrageous, but was not going to return it and demand my money back.

I'll know not to order the muffin -butter combo next time. "Dunkin, Wake up and smell the coffee!!”
