Fans across the country will get a chance to see the Red Storm in action on Jan. 13 when CBS College Sports airs the St. John’s-Georgetown game at 7 p.m. The contest is the first league game of the year for the women’s basketball team at the newly renovated Carnesecca Arena. ESPNU will broadcast the Red Storm’s Feb. 1 game at Seton Hall. That contest will be held at Walsh Gymnasium with tip-off slated for noon.
The remainder of the Red Storm’s televised contests will air in the New York area on SportsNet New York (SNY). On Jan. 24, St. John’s travels to West Virginia for what has been selected as the BIG EAST Game of the Week. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. And St. John’s rounds out its regular season television slate when it travels to Marquette on Feb. 21 for a 4 p.m. tilt.
The BIG EAST will continue to expand its women's basketball Web site coverage in 2008-09. For the first time, fans can watch both the first and second rounds of the conference championship live on BIGEAST.tv, the league's online home for live and on-demand streaming audio and video. In addition, live streaming audio from the BIG EAST/ISP Radio Network will be available for each game of the tournament.
BIG EAST Conference women’s basketball teams will make 98 television appearances during the 2008-09 season. The Conference has a record 31 overall appearances on ESPNU and a record 25 appearances on CBS College Sports. The BIG EAST women’s championship game will be the only conference championship final on ESPN.
