Kirsten, we thought you forgot about us!

While Harold Ford, Jr. has been making the rounds in an attempt to make a name for himself should he decide to challenge Senator Kirsten Gillibrand in a Democratic Primary - most notably by sitting down with several influential Brooklyn politicians, including Kings County Democratic boss Assemblyman Vito Lopez - Gillibrand has been keeping a decidedly low profile recently.

Quite frankly, we were beginning to worry. Was it something we said? We know we haven't always been as attentive as we should have been, and didn't call you once during this heated debate over health care to check in and see how you were doing. (Or maybe we did, and you just didn't call back! We're sorry, we know this isn't about who did what to whom. And anyway, this elected official-constituent relationship is a two-way street, and there's plenty of blame to go around.)

But all is forgiven. Our Gilli was in Brooklyn last week, hanging out at the home of district leader Jo Anne Simon (not sure how that is going to sit with Vito) and talking shop with some Kings County political figures or her own (presumably those that weren't invited to the Ford pow-wow). Glad to have you back Kirsten. What's that? What have we been up to? Oh, you know, we had a few meetings with some other politicians, nothing serious you know, more just like friends getting together. You look good...
