The Kiwanis Club of Maspeth is offering nine $1,500 scholarships to 2009 high school graduates residing in the Maspeth area. The scholarships are awarded on merit only, and further details and requirements are as follows:

Student must reside in the Maspeth Kiwanis District for more than one year prior to graduation, and must be graduating from a high or preparatory (pubic or parochial) school in 2009.

The award will be a cash sum of $1,500 payable to the student.

Application shall include the following information and documents (grades for last six months of senior year are not required): (a) Typewritten statement of not more than 200 words of applicant’s participation in school activities and contemplated further education; (b) Signed statement from a parent or guardian consenting to student’s application for the scholarship award; (c) Statement of applicant’s education history throughout high school signed by proper school authority, showing courses taken and grades received – New York State Regents should e clearly indicated as such.
