The Knights defeated the Warriors, 3-0, with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-18. Queens then dropped a 3-0 decision to Saint Anselm, 25-23, 25-20, 25-11. With the split, the Knights moved to 4-10 overall on the season.
Against Merrimack, freshman Briana Green posted an outstanding .900 kill percentage with nine kills and three blocks to lead the Knights to victory. Junior Nicoletta DiCocco notched a season-high five service aces, while senior setter Kristen Moore earned her sixth double-double of the season with 22 assists and 10 digs.
Green matched her performance from the opening match with nine kills again along with two blocks against Saint Anselm. Senior Reggie Anthony had 14 digs and two aces, while sophomore Cassidy Stewart posted five kills and two aces. The Hawks outhit the Knights, posting a .269 hitting percentage compared to Queens’ .069 mark.
Following five days of rest, Queens will return to East Coast Conference play when the Knights travel to Roberts Wesleyan College on Friday for a 7 p.m. match.
