With the Wildcats fielding just five players, Queens needed to win just one of two doubles matches to claim the first point of the overall contest. Anica Knezevic and Laura Ortega Jover teamed at first-doubles to take a 6-2 decision over Christina Stasiuk and Jessica Robins.
Line Sorsdahl Aasen and Ruth Artaza Martin won a 6-0 match at second-doubles for good measure to give Queens a 2-0 lead with sixth-singles being a default as well.
Marisa Ostoja was tested at the top flight of singles play in a 6-4, 7-5 win over Stasiuk, while Louisa Brunetti comfortably handled Robins (6-2, 6-0) at second-singles. Ortega Jover, Knezevic and Sorsdahl Aasen swept each of their opponents by 6-0, 6-0 scores to give Queens the emphatic 7-0 victory.
The Knights will host the East Coast Conference Championship on Saturday and Sunday, with QC holding the top overall seed in the four-team playoff. Queens will host fourth-seeded Roberts Wesleyan in the first semifinal while the second semifinal will feature second-seeded NYIT and District of Columbia.
