I would like to applaud the City Council for passing a bill that will ban smoking in city parks, beaches, boardwalks, marinas, and pedestrian plazas. I firmly believe second hand smoke endangers all of us, especially the children who also go to these places.
I think though the law might be difficult to enforce, that's why I think we should all be the smoking police and warn those lighting up that it is against the law. This might stop some from lighting that cancer stick. Kudos to the councill and Mayor Bloomberg for caring about the health of all NewY Yorkers who don't smoke. Let the butts stop here!
