Dear Editor,

Eugene Scalia, the son of late Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia, has been chosen by President Donald Trump to serve as the nation’s new Labor Secretary.

He will run a department that administers federal laws and regulations covering 160 million American workers. But America's unions can rest assured, Scalia is a chip off the old block and will do everything in his power to put corporate interests first and strip away the rights of workers.

Scalia is a career corporate lawyer who spent most of his professional life focusing on representing big companies in their fights against consumers, employees and government regulators.

Scalia led the charge against a proposed rule that would have required 401(k) plan managers to act in the best interests of their investors and Clinton-era rules designed to prevent repetitive stress injuries at work.
