A California man was struck by two vehicles and killed in Ridgewood on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old victim, Kamil Gorski, was hit as he crossed the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and 62nd Street around 8 p.m. on February 3. The driver of the first vehicle, 53-year-old Raul Reyes of Brooklyn, fled the scene immediately. He was later arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

After initially being hit by Reyes, Gorski was then struck a second time. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and hasn’t been charged.

At the scene, officials said Gorski appeared to have endured significant head trauma. He was then taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
