Barbara Foote, a blood donor recruiter, said the New York Hospital of Queens wanted to give the Maspeth community an opportunity to show its support and donate blood. She said the Mets blood drive last spring was very successful.
“We do drives in all of Queens, but we're very loyal to Maspeth,” Foote said. “They're waiting, they're saving their blood for us.”
