On Saturday, December 3, the Maspeth Lions club held its annual Children’s Christmas party at St. Stanislaus Parish Hall. The party catered to over 100 children from St. Mary’s Children's Hopsital in Bayside, who enjoyed lunch, clowns and a visit from Santa Claus. The Lions provided the children with over 1,000 toys and gifts to take home with them. Lunch was donated by Three Sons Restaurant of Maspeth.

On Sunday, December 11, the Lions made their annual visit to Midway Nursing Home, where they spent the day visiting sick and elderly residents. Club members entertained residents with musical performances, and each resident received a fleece blanket.
