Meng sent out a press release recently asking for the public's input on drafting new legislation, opening up the door for all sorts of crazy new laws.
And Meng has a good track record, too, so there is a good chance your idea will be signed into law. In the short time she has been in office, Meng has had eight bills passed in the Assembly, and seven of those have actually been signed by the governor. Those include extending unemployment coverage, mandating insurance companies cover the cost for infants who need special baby formula, and ridding government documents of the word “oriental.”
So if you have an idea that would make groundbreaking legislation, drop Meng's office a line at email@example.com. Maybe they'll even invite you to the bill-signing ceremony.
