To register a constituent concern with Senator Joe Addabbo, just head to the nearest library.

Addabbo is launching a weekend library tour across the 15th Senate District in an effort to make his office more accessible to working families unable to voice their complaints during the week.

“Many of my constituents might be unable to stop in my district office Monday through Friday,” Addabbo said in a statement announcing the initiative. “The time I am spending at our local libraries gives them an opportunity to see me in their community on the weekend and for me to personally address their concerns.”

He said he would also speak about the library system budget, which was threatened with severe cut backs earlier this year.

Addabbo is scheduled to appear at the following libraries, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.:

• Maspeth Library (69-70 Grand Avenue) on Saturday, September 26

• Middle Village Library (72-31 Metropolitan Avenue) on Saturday, October 3

• North Forest Park Library (98-27 Metropolitan Avenue) on Saturday, October 19.

He said he would continue holding Saturday library hours through the end of the year, while his office negotiates for space for a second district office.

Addabbo thanked Tom Galante, the Queens Library director, for helping arrange the tour.

“Tom has been most helpful to me as I schedule these library appearances to increase accessibility to my constituents,” said Addabbo, “and I look forward to working with Queens Library in the future.”
