Five out of the eight fights contested at Resorts World Casino in Queens over the weekend ended by knockout.

The night was promoted by the legendary Evander Holyfield and his Real Deal Boxing, in what was only the second card since its formation earlier in 2017.

You could have a debate about which one was the most devastating, or even significant, but there’s no question at least a few fighters from the card showcased their promising young talent.

Featherweight Saleh Almulkai got things started with a first-round stoppage victory in his debut, before super bantamweight Brooklynite Khalid Twaiti dazzled in what was a decision victory in his second pro fight.

Fellow Brooklyn-born prospect Cesar Francis rocked the world of Eduardo Rodriguez in one of the most exhilarating finishes of the night, in what was also his second professional bout, and Edgar Berlange, one of the true blue chippers on the card, earned a first-round knockout of his own immediately after.

Berlanga, 20, is undefeated through five fights, all wins by knockout.

In the top half of the bout sheet, Greg Outlaw started off with a decision win, as Julian Sosa subsequently did.

Sosa in particular, is growing into one of the more popular local fighters in the area, and having already fought at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on three occasions, the now 9-0 welterweight appears to be poised for television time in the not-so-distant future.

In the co-feature, Devaun Lee impressed with a technical knockout win over former multi-time World Super Middleweight title contender Giovanni Lorezno in only the fourth round.

Back in January 2016, Lee defeated fellow middleweight Ian Green, who was bumped up to the main event after the original featured fight between Elio Rojas and Bryant Cruz was called off.

In what became the main event, Green was paired up with Kemahl Russell, who defeated Green by a seventh-round TKO, earning the vacant North American Boxing Federation Junior Middleweight Championship.
