Dear Editor,

Thank you for your well-reported article on November 21 on vendors in the subways.

I live in Forest Hills and frequently take the subway to the Jackson Heights/74th Street stop. I am always happy to see the women selling churros and mangos.

I am often tempted and occasionally indulge. They always make it a friendly place and are never in the way of traffic flow.

I was heartened to here that there was a rally in support of the vendors and opposing additional MTA police. Plaudits to state senators Jessica Ramos and Julia Salazar and Councilman Antonio Reynoso, as well as the Riders Alliance,

for calling our attention to this issue.

I always feel safe in the subways, but am often worried that I may not reach my destination on time.

Governor Andrew Cuomo, we need repairs not additional police!

Sincerely,

Christina Nannarone

Forest Hills
