Primary Day is on Tuesday, September 14, and Republicans and Democrats – okay, mostly Democrats – will head to the polls to pick the person who will represent their party in the November general election, as well as all of those little piddling posts like district leader that for some reason everybody is all concerned with winning this year.
Heck, some of the hottest and most hard-fought races are for those district leader positions in Brooklyn, where each race has several qualified candidates. It could be those races that forever alters Brooklyn's political landscape and its reputation for being controlled by a few powerful members of the Democratic Party who work behind the scenes away from public scrutiny.
So get out and vote! And even if you don't really feel like voting, at least go to the polls so you can check out the fancy new voting machines that we've been hearing about for years now. We hear it's like taking the SAT. Fun!
