Rubio's rebuttal a joke

Dear Editor:

Marco Rubio's rebuttal to the State of the Union speech was a rehash of the embarrassing speech that he gave at the Republican National Convention. From the rebuttal, one could tell that Rubio's speech was written a month ago.

President Barack Obama stated that smaller government was better. Rubio stated that Obama claimed that bigger government was needed. On one hand, Rubio is saying that Medicare and big government is flawed, and then immediately detailed how the government paid his college tuition (which by the way he paid off only a few months ago). Then he praised Medicare for allowing his father to die with dignity.

For someone to is so against big government, he and his family certainly were taken care of very well, as they should be.

We can see clearly now that the Republican Party is bent on keeping their party out of the White House for the next twelve years at least.

I am all for opposing rebuttals, but someone has to tell the powers that be in the Republican Party that you can't send a boy to do a man's job.

Sincerely,

Charles Merendino

Woodside
