The story about the dolphin who swam into the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn and eventually died is very sad. This poor creature somehow must have gotten separated from the rest of its pod and ended up in a very filthy, toxic body of water, which is probably one of the reasons that it died.
Why couldn't something have been done to coax this very gentle mammal out of the canal into open waters? It really is a such a shame. Sincerely,
