In your Dispatch letter “Let the people decide” (1/26/12) concerning same-sex marriage, a writer suggests this “issue” should be “a referendum for the entire state of New Jersey to decide.”
The following revelation may come as a surprise and even as a shock, but this “issue” was already settled (gasp!) 5,000 years ago. Want proof? Dust off the Old Testament and turn to Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13.
I take no opinion on this matter, but only for clarification.
