Tis the season of schedule releases.

Even though fall sports are just around the corner for colleges and high schools nationwide, most are simultaneously gearing up for basketball, which begins in November.

Among those are the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers, who have finalized the non-conference portion of their schedule. The Northeast Conference set of their schedule will be unveiled along with the rest of the teams in the conference in the middle of the week, per the NEC.

The Terriers’ men’s basketball squad is looking to rebound from a 4-25, 2-16 NEC campaign, which came after a great three-year run seeing them emerge as a threat to the NEC title, and a premier mid-major in New York City.

The women’s squad held on for their first playoff berth in two years by earning the eighth seed and matching up with the Sacred Heart Pioneers in last year’s quarterfinals in Connecticut, where they were turned away.

In 2015, while the men steamrolled through the NEC to earn home court advantage before settling for a bid to the National Invitational Tournament, the women, who were the fifth seed in the ladies NEC Tournament, tore through the conference for the school’s first (and only) NEC title in Division I basketball.

For the men, after scrimmages against nearby Columbia University and Iona College, the Terriers will begin the season in Pittsburgh, visiting Duquesne on November 11.

Their notable match-ups moving forward include Manhattan College in Riverdale, a Thanksgiving tournament at Florida Gulf Coast, the perennial power Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Sunday, December 3, and a date in Fordham the next weekend.

The Brooklyn-based women’s squad will begin their new regular season slate with a visit to Queens where they’ll face the St. John’s Red Storm for the first time in four years.

Other non-conference games of note include, like the men, a road game at Manhattan College and a Thanksgiving Tournament in the Sunshine State, though, the women will be at Florida Atlantic University.

In December, the Terriers have two key local contests on the horizon in the form of the Seton Hall Pirates, whom they’ll pair up against on December 2, and the Iona Gaels, who’ll look to beat the Terriers for the second consecutive season.

Conference match-ups to look forward to are led by the respective Battles of Brooklyn between St. Francis and LIU Brooklyn. Both dates, which will be during the winter, will be announced by the conference as part of the collective release.
