Rysheed Jordan matched a career-best with a game-high 24 points and D’Angelo Harrison added 22 as No. 24 St. John’s cruised to a 74-53 victory against Fordham at the MSG Holiday Festival.

The Red Storm extended its win streak to four games as it ran away with its seventh double-digit triumph of the season.

“This group has made steady, measurable progress from 13 wins as freshman, to 17 wins as sophomores, 20 wins as juniors and now 8-1 and in the Top 25 as seniors,” said head coach Steve Lavin. “It’s clear that this is a group that has matured and developed their game, both individually and collectively, during their time here.”

Jordan finished 9-of-12 from the floor, matched a career-high with three 3-pointers and added a team-high four steals to lead St. John’s to its second-largest margin of victory this season (21). Harrison shot 8-of-12 and moved into sole possession of sixth place on St. John’s career scoring list with 1,778 points.

“I thought Rysheed played with poise and made excellent choices,” said Lavin. “He played a near-perfect game.”

Jamal Branch dished out a season-high seven assists without a turnover as St. John’s committed only 10 in the entire contest. The Red Storm’s defense converted 20 Ram miscues into 28 points.

St. John’s hardwood legend Bill Schaeffer was honored at halftime as one of four ECAC Legend honorees. The 12th-leading scorer in St. John’s history with 1,484 points, Schaeffer earned MVP honors at the 1972 ECAC Holiday Festival.

Schaeffer earned third team All-American accolades as a senior in 1972-73 after averaging 24.7 points per game, a single season school-record that still stands today.

St. John’s returns to Carnesecca Arena and hosts Saint Mary’s for a 7 p.m. game on Dec. 19. The contest will air on FOX Sports 1.
