Early bird Christmas shoppers in Glendale were treated to a holiday celebration Saturday, courtesy of The Shops at Atlas Park’s Third Annual “Pawfect Holiday” event.

Onlookers were treated to the musical stylings of Yesterday and Today, a Beatles cover band, as well as a host of raffles for freebies in the shopping center and a $250 Toys R’ Us gift card courtesy of LiteFM.

A Christmas parade was also in full swing with Santa Claus, snow and gingerbread men, and carolers making appearances and dancing with the crowd.

The highlight of the event was the closing fireworks display, as well as the lighting of Mr. Bemberlinx, a 20-foot holiday bear made entirely of topiary.

Mr. Bemberlinx will remain at The Shops for the duration of the holiday season.

The day-long celebration was brought to an upbeat close with a free concert by swing favorites The Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, who played their hit “Zoot Suit Riot” among other tunes.

If you missed the “Pawfect Holiday Celebration” despair not, as the The Shops at Atlas Park have plenty more planned for the season.

The Shops has also scheduled photos with Santa for children and pets for various dates in December, as well as a “Pawfect Chanukah Celebration” scheduled for December 28.
