What we didn't get a whole lot of information on was just what in the world the Queens Festival '86 was or entailed. This photo actually had some random information attached to it letting us know that Queens Festival '86 carried the theme “Americana” and was intended to be a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty and the monument's rehabilitation.
It promised two days featuring a wide variety of cultural, recreational and special events.
The scant information also alluded to something called Queens Festival '85, which leads us to believe this wasn't a one-time celebration, but was at one time an annual event.
