One of the most popular annual events in the city is Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s cherry blossom festival, known as Sakura Matsuri. The weekend long festival was held on April 27 and 28, featuring a number of high-energy performances, demonstrations, delectable cuisine and beautiful art.
The main attraction, however, were the over 200 flowering cherry trees, one of the most spectacular cherry displays in North America.
Visitors from around the world attended the event to appreciate the beauty of the trees and to participate in Japanese culture.
