Dear Editor,

Congratulations on your new job as head of the Queens Library. Your record as schools chancellor shows you're well prepared to tackle tough challenges.

You visited nearly half of the Queens Public Library branches, did that include the Kew Gardens Hills branch at Vleigh Place and 72nd Street that's been closed for almost four years?

An interim facility on Main Street hardly meets neighborhood needs for books and web access. Kew Gardens Hills residents also need a permanent branch as a polling place to vote in the November elections, just as we did for the 2012 presidential elections.

Don't disenfranchise us.

Sincerely,

Richard Reif
