UPDATE (2/1/13): Police on Thursday arrested a man they believe tried to lure two teenage girls into a black Escalade on Friday, Jan. 25, in two separate incidents in Queens. Flushing resident Angel Recalde, 43, has been charged with luring a child to commit a crime, endangering the welfare of a child, and harassment.

Community leaders and police are on the hunt for man who tried to teenage girls into his Cadillac Escalade in two separate incidents on Friday. The suspect pulled his car up to the girls and attempted to abduct them, according to police.

At 7 a.m. the 30 to 35-year-old male stopped his car on Northern Blvd. at 102 St. in Corona and started talking to a 13-year-old girl. Once she realized that she didn’t know who the man was, she walked away from the car.

The man got out of his car and followed the girl as she walked away from him. He then grabbed her arm, but the victim was able to free herself from his grip and escape.

Later that day at roughly 8 p.m., the same suspect was back on Northern Blvd. where he took another shot at abducting a girl. This time he was on Northern Blvd. at Parsons Blvd. in Flushing.

In this incident, he motioned to a 14-year-old girl to have her come closer to his car. When she ignored him and continued walking, the suspect followed her. However, she was able to get away.

Local elected officials are taking no chances in allowing another possible abduction attempt. Councilwoman Julissa Ferreras sent out an email to her constituents outlining the two incidents and what they need to do to report the crime.

The suspect is between 5’7” to 5’9” and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark pants and a blue collared shirt.

If you have any information about these incidents, call Crimestoppers (800) 577-TIPS.
