Vincent V. Niski passed away peacefully on March 6, 2013 at Fairview Nursing Care Center in Forest Hills, NY at the age of
89.
Vincent was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was Honorably Discharged in December, 1945. He was later employed by Phelps Dodge Corporation.
Vincent was born in Greenpoint, New York and resided in Elmhurst. His wife, Catherine Wasacz Niski, passed away in 1997.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Blanche Niski, and his sisters, Mary Feldt, Theresa Smyth, Jean Filipkowski and Henrietta Boenig. He is survived by sisters-in-law, Stella Sullivan, of Queens, and Sophie Lemech of Pennsylvania and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, March 9th from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. at Coppola-Migliore Funeral Home, 49-01 104th St., Corona, followed by a 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at
St. Adalbert’s Church, 52-29 83rd St., Elmhurst. Entombment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
