Assemblywoman Margaret Markey wants to make sure Queens voters are prepared for the change, so she has arranged for the New York City Board of Elections to conduct open public demonstrations of the new system at select Queens Public Library branches in her district over the next few weeks.
"Voters will have a new way to cast their ballot this fall, and I invite everyone to stop by their local library branch to try out this new system," said Markey.
Demonstrations are scheduled to take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on the following dates at the following locations: Wednesday, July 28, at Broadway Library (40-20 Broadway, Long Island City); Wednesday, August 11, at Maspeth Library (69-61 Grand Avenue, Maspeth); and Wednesday, August 18, at Woodside Library (54-22 Skillman Avenue, Woodside).
"Take this opportunity to see and use the new voting system that will be the new standard for all future elections in New York City,” said Markey, “and be sure to exercise your right to vote this fall."
