You might recall that after taking a brief hiatus from the City Council, Karen Koslowitz was re-elected to represent the Forest Hills district she once repped before term limits forced her out in 2001.

Koslowitz's first stint among the 51 elite members of the City Council was a little before Pol Position's time, so when she was again given the post by voters last fall, we waited with bated breath for our first chance to see the councilwoman in action, out in the district solving problems and working on behalf of her constituents.

Flash-forward to last week, and we were still waiting for that first press release to arrive in our inbox touting all of the hard work that she has been doing the past seven months or so.

And then, it came! A message from the Office of Karen Koslowitz! We opened anxiously...what could it possibly be about? How hard she was working to help the constituents who were affected by two large fires in her district recently? Her efforts to reach out to parents concerned about the new school opening up on Metropolitan Avenue and if their kids will actually be able to get into a classroom there?

Not quite.

She wants a free subscription to our newspaper.

No problem, Double-K, we've got you covered! Hey, somebody has to do something to save taxpayer money in your district, right? We would love to help.
