I have to mention the set design this year is particilarly excellent thanks to the incredible work of Kerryclare Gleason and TJ Kerins with the help of Ashley Gleason, Rhiannon MOntes and Sarah Illustrissimo (Art & Design HS) under the direction of CUNY Art professor, Beata Szpura."
We are pulling out all the special effects stops with kids disappearing into the floor and flying over head!
This year's show stars Alex Gugliuzza of Resurrection Ascension as the infamous WILLY WONKA! Co-staring with Alex is Kyle Kopczynski of St. Mary's Winfield as CHARLIE BUCKET. Joining Kyle and Alex on stage is Gerard Lally who will be playing the role of GRANDPA JOE. The combination of these three comedic talents is sure to produce a fantastic experience for all to see.
Also featured in this year's production are Ashley Gleason (St. Joseph's College) & Scottie Stegman as THE GLOOPS, Allanah Doherty and Joseph Harvey (Msgr McClancy HS) as THE SALTS, Daniella Duarte, Claire Spinetti (St. Vincent Ferrer) and Kerryclare Gleason (st. Joseph's College) as THE BEAUREGARDS and Robert Biernecki and Shannon Gordon as THE TEEVEES.
And for one of the most beautiful musical numbers in the show, "Cheer Up Charlie," you can hear the angelic voice of Alexa Dayoan (Christ the King HS) singing along with Nick Ostemeier (Msgr McClancy Memorial HS).
Opening night for ROALD DAHL'S WILLY WONKA will be Saturday April 28th and it will run for 4 shows through May 6th.
