Replacing sewers in Community Board 5 remains a priority. Last Wednesday, the board voted unanimously to have the redesign and reconstruction of sewer systems as the area’s top capital priority.
Department of Design and Construction (DDC) representative Jeff Margolies addresses CB5 members.
Middle Village residents have had to endure two years of construction to date. Two years of looking for parking to date. Two years of Rodent problems to date. Two years of cracked stoops to date.
Question-If you call 311 to complain about rats climbing into sewers and out of sewers on the corner of 74 street, specifically in front of 63-01 74 street, and they give you a claim number, then why hasn’t anyone come to clean out the sewer drains as of yet after two weeks?
Next thousands per day of parents, and little children pass this way to get to the entrance of the park. Since there is no traffic light at the busiest part of Juniper Blvd. South, but an a abundance of rats, and Raccoons, to deal with, do you think the City can afford a new traffic light before someone is killed?
Simple things should be easy for any City official to see. Including the Parks department, and Politicians should they ever walk by to look around. Cars are racing by this intersection and it is a matter of time before parents and their kids are killed.
Awareness, Logic, and safety, should be first before having to try for the third time to replace the sewer systems the correct way on this overtime project that is to begin once again.
