(Reuters) - Police with dogs and helicopters are searching woods and swampy areas north of Chicago for three armed suspects after a police officer was shot dead on Tuesday in the suburb of Fox Lake, a local law enforcement official said. Lake County sheriff's office Sergeant Christopher Covelli told Reuters the officer had died after being shot, but declined to identify him. Local media reported that the police officer who was killed was a 20-year veteran.

The DEA's Operation Cyber Juice involved more than 30 investigations in 20 US states and resulted in the seizure of 16 underground steroid labs. Also confiscated were 636 kilos (1,400 pounds) of raw steroid powder, 8,200 liters (2,200 gallons) of raw steroid injectable liquid and more than $2 million in currency and other assets, the Justice Department said.
