A damaged window at the National Institute for Criminalistics and Criminology (INCC-NICC) in Neder-Over-Heembeek, Belgium pictured on August 29, 2016 after it was hit by an explosion overnightAn explosion "of criminal origin" at Belgium's national criminology institute in Brussels early Monday caused a fire and major damage but no casualties, officials said. "There was no one at the site" in the northern Brussels suburb of Neder-Over-Heembeek, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office told AFP, refusing to comment on the cause except to say the explosion had a "criminal origin".

Manbij and Jarablus lie to the west of the Euphrates river, an area of northern Syria which Turkey and the United States have told the Kurdish YPG forces to withdraw from.
