Lawmakers from the opposition Labour Party have backed a motion of no confidence in their leader Jeremy Corbyn, the party said on Tuesday. The motion was tabled in the wake of Britain's vote to leave the European Union and backed by many who felt he had not campaigned hard enough to keep the country inside the EU, and would not be able to win a future election. Corbyn has previously said he will not resign and would stand again if the party did call a leadership contest.
Growth in gross domestic product -- the broad measure of the world's largest economy's output in goods and services -- was revised upward to 1.1 percent from the previous estimate of 0.8 percent, the Commerce Department said. "US economic growth, as measured by GDP, took another winter vacation," said Scott Hoyt of Moody's Analytics. The economy grew 1.4 percent in the 2015 fourth quarter.
