Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush speaks at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs in Chicago, IllinoisRepublican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush on Friday stepped up his criticism of Hillary Clinton, calling it "baffling" that she stored official U.S. State Department emails on a personal server rather than safer government systems. "It's a dangerous world, and security would mean that you couldn't have a private server," the former Florida governor said in an interview with Radio Iowa on Friday morning. "It's a little baffling, to be honest with you." Bush and other Republicans have pounded Clinton, the early front-runner for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, for using a personal email account for work during her four years as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad is seen during the filming of an interview with the BBC, in DamascusBy Samia Nakhoul and Louis Charbonneau NEW YORK (Reuters) - Syria's envoy to the United Nations says it's time for the United States and other Western powers to accept that President Bashar al-Assad is here to stay, and to abandon what he suggested was a failed strategy of trying to split the Middle East into sectarian enclaves.    Speaking to Reuters on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the Syrian war, Assad's long-serving U.N. ambassador Bashar Ja'afari said his president was ready to work with the United States and others to combat terrorism in the Middle East. "President Assad can deliver because he is a strong president. Britain and France have rejected calls to restore ties with the Assad government. U.S. officials say there is no shift in their policy regarding Assad, even as their focus is fighting Islamic State, an al Qaeda offshoot which is also an enemy of Damascus.     "We have been open for cooperation (with the U.S.)," Ja’afari said.

Brazil’s Attorney General Rodrigo asked the nation’s Supreme Court on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 for permission to investigate top political figures for alleged involvement in a kickback scheme at the state-run oil company Petrobras, which prosecutors say is the country’s largest corruption scandal yet uncovered. (AP Photo/Andre Penner, File)RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — The Supreme Court late Friday approved an investigation of dozens of top politicians, including a former president and leaders of congress, for alleged connections to what prosecutors call the biggest graft scheme ever uncovered in Brazil.
